The photo above is julianne at 1230am last night. She wasn't interested in sleep at all. She has begun her sixth wonder week (categories) and is crawling all the time. She has even learned how to climb up onto her feet and lean over the crib. We have to lower the crib needless to say!
By I write this be used I have friends and family who have babies that sleep through the night (longer than 5 hour stretches without a feed) and I want to first say congrats and I am truly happy for them and baby! I mean it as I am happy for moms who's babies sleep for then without trouble! Mine isn't one of them yet but we are working on it!
Thankfully my husband chad is at home this week and helping me in sleep training. I know this is controversial as some say nurse to sleep if it works. Others say they will learn on their own in time. However this mama is going back to work in 5 sleeps and she needs a baby who can sleep at least 4 hour increments consistently!
So in comes chad to the rescue! He took watch all last night and woke me up after 1230 as that's when I said I would feed her (unless she was super frustrated and I'd feed her at that point if it's earlier than 1230.). Why 1230? Because she has slept 5 hours straight several times after her bedtime routine and so I know she can handle that. And she did. Like clockwork though waking up at 1230. And then she wanted to play and chat for an hour:$. But we persevered and she was back down at 145 am and slept until 615! Minus a brief waking at 430 where she put herself back to sleep after 5 minutes! Success!
So then she slept in this morning as when she woke at 615 she ate and the was rubbing her eyes so she went back to sleep until 830am. Napped at 1030-12 and then again from 2-3pm. She catnapped at 5 for 20 min and then was tired at 7 but would not sleep! So she finally went to sleep at 9pm. She just woke up at 1130pm but after 10 min she went back to sleep.
The saga continues in our house hold with hopes by next week she will be sleeping through the night with one feed at 1230 even would be good with me!
