December 2013 I was unhappy with the 20 ish newly wed pounds I had gained and started insanity with my girlfriend. I couldn't figure out why I struggled to finish the work outs as I had been going to the gym off and of so I wasn't that out of shape. Sure enough I was pregnant and shortly after that we had a scare and so exercise was put aside. The rare spin class and fee walks throughout my pregnancy paired with my love for ice cream and fruit (and pregnancy craving for chicken wings of all things) didn't help matters in the weight category. I gained a total of 58 pounds with Julianne in 9 months! Yowza
Thankfully 28 melted off instantly after birth. However my 30 pounds of ice cream sedentary workaholic lifestyle is still there:(
I thought I would have a fit pregnancy. I then thought I would drop the weight instantly as I was walking lots right after having her. But like many things I am learning, things aren't always what you thought they would be.
First of all if I have to choose sleep over working out I choose sleep. I love sleep.
Secondly, working out is so much harder with this extra weight and I am used to being able to do so much more
Third, I suffer from nerve damage since having Julianne so I have zero strength in my wrists.
The above all are excuses, valid or not, that I have decided I need to overcome and just do it.
I decided against buying a post pregnancy plan and to utilize the education I have in the area. Two months of that and I gained 2 pounds. I then bought a fit book to track my food and workouts but my cheats weren't making it into the book. So now I've decided to do insanity for the 60'days. Im alllowing myself one treat meal a week if I stay true to the plan for the whole week. I am taking measurements and doing the fit test.
Today I completed day 2 workout and it was tough. I had to modify a few moves because of my wrists but I did it none the less. I like how I can take the workouts to california with me next week to stay on track and I can eat the meal plan anywhere. The above is my starting photo. My goal is to lose my baby belly and tone up so im back in some of my pre mommy clothes:). The number on the scale will just be an added bonus!
